Alexandros (Alex) Papachristodoulou, Ph.D.
Alex is a translational cancer biologist and the PI of the lab. He is a Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) Young Investigator, William Guy Forbeck Scholar and, NCI K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Awardee.
He has discovered novel non-nuclear functions for the prostate specific NKX3.1 gene and roles for metformin as a precision prostate cancer interception. Alex developed new pre-clinical models and tools to study the multifaceted impact of mitochondrial dysfunction in cancer development and disparities.
